Pidilite- International Operations

In last five years we have significantly increased exports of consumer & craftsmen products. In order to achieve sustained growth in international business, we are expanding our distribution network in various countries and also deploying additional manpower.

We have established offices / subsidiaries in several countries including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Egypt, Bangladesh, UK, Kenya, South Africa and Ghana. Besides distribution we are carrying out various brand-building activities in these countries to establish our brands.

In addition to the above we have done following acquisitions to strengthen our overseas presence:

1.	Pidilite International Pte. Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pidilite in Singapore, acquired a 75% stake in Singapore based Chemson Asia Pte Ltd in January 2005. Chemson is the manufacturer of waterproofing products and exterior paints. Chemson’s existing customers and product specifications, coupled with our marketing skills and technical support, will help increase our presence in the Asia Pacific region.
2.	Pidilite Middle East Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pidilite in Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, acquired a 49% stake in Dubai based Jupiter Chemicals LLC in June 2005. Jupiter Chemicals manufactures reflective coatings, tile adhesives and plasters, and will help grow the Company’s business in the highy potential Middle East market.
3.	Pidilite International Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pidilite in Singapore, acquired a controlling stake in Thailand based Bamco Ltd in February 2006. Bamco is a manufacturer of speciality bitumen-based waterproofing products and markets its products in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The acquisition will help us strengthen our construction chemical business in South East Asia.
4.	Pidilite USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pidilite in USA, acquired Cyclo brand & business in June 2006. The business is based in Florida, USA and the product range includes maintenance, performance and appearance products for DIY (Do-it-Yourself) and professional car care segment. Cyclo products are sold in USA and over 50 other countries. The acquisition adds an important portfolio to product range of Pidilite.
5.	Pidilite USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pidilite in USA, acquired Sargent Art brand & business in June 2006. The business is based in Pennsylvania, USA. Sargent Art has been selling world-class art materials in USA for over 50 years. The products range includes crayons, tempera colours, acrylic colours, markers, modeling clay and many other art material products for education market. The acquisition strengthens art material business of Pidilite.
6.	Pidilite Do Brazil Desenvolvimento De Negocios Ltda, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pidilite, acquired Pulvitec do Brasil Industria e comercio de colas e adesivos Limitada in June 2007. Pulvitec is in business of adhesives, sealants and construction chemicals. The acquisition helps Pidilite enter large Latin American market
