Debashish joined Pidilite in Feb 2019. He is currently responsible for handling Special Projects across Divisions working with the MD.
Prior to joining Pidilite, Debashish worked with Procter & Gamble, Asian Paints, Claas and the Aditya Birla Group for two decades. He handled multiple roles in Sales, Marketing and P&L Leadership.
Debashish started his career in Sales and got a solid foundation in Sales & Marketing at Asian Paints and Procter & Gamble. Post his second MBA from the US, he joined the Aditya Birla Group as Executive Assistant to the Chairman, Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla. This role helped imbibe a long-term business orientation, sharpen the strategic mindset, and exposed him to working closely with the senior leadership in the Group. His stints as Regional Manager, Asia Pacific at Claas and Head of UltraTech Building Solutions / Building Products Division at UltraTech helped provide an exposure to setting up a business, managing large teams and delivering a P&L plan. Debashish’s last assignment was as Head of Integration for the Jaypee and Binani businesses at UltraTech. He was responsible for running the P&L of these companies and their successful integration them with the parent UltraTech business.
Among Debashish’s key achievements are getting the Best Student Award at The University of California, Berkeley in the MBA Program and the Exceptional Contributor Pride Award at the Aditya Birla Group.
Debashish is an Economics Graduate from the M.S. University of Baroda and holds two MBA degrees from the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai and the University of California at Berkeley, USA.
He is passionate about Indian Classical Music, collecting antiques and traveling and dogs.
